Chikaldara, a hill station in Amravati district situated on a plateau at the height of 1118.13 meters above sea level surrounded by many picturesque valleys. From Amravati its distance is about 100 kms. On southeast of Chilakdara lies a fortress of Gawilgad at distance of 2.5 kms. According to Nur-ul-Berar, the hill station was discovered by Captain Robinson of the Hyderabad Contingent Battery in 1823.
